What is a Fractional COO?

How is OptimizedExecs different from traditional fractional services?
Every engagement is anchored by a dedicated Fractional COO. We don’t offer disconnected executives or ad-hoc advisory support. Leadership is embedded, coordinated, and accountable from day one.
What is COO-Led Fractional Flex™?
COO-Led Fractional Flex™ is our signature model. You commit to a fixed number of leadership hours per month, anchored by a Fractional COO. As priorities evolve, additional fractional executives (CFO, CRO, CMO, etc.) are flexed into that same capacity for defined outcomes—then transitioned out when goals are met.
Will I always have a COO?
Yes. In both engagement options, the Fractional COO is the constant. The COO remains embedded throughout the engagement to maintain accountability, continuity, and execution ownership.
How do you decide which additional fractional leaders are needed?
During the first 30 days, your Fractional COO works closely with the CEO to assess priorities and build a leadership plan aligned to company goals. Additional executives are brought in intentionally, based on outcomes—not assumptions.
Do you replace my internal team?
No. We work alongside your existing team. The Fractional COO strengthens leadership structure, clarifies ownership, and helps your team operate more effectively—not replace them.

How many hours per month do we need?
Engagements typically start at a minimum of 20 hours per month for a Dedicated Fractional COO. COO-Led Fractional Flex™ engagements vary based on leadership needs and goals. Capacity is fixed monthly, while leadership allocation remains flexible.
Do you use EOS®, 5 Facets, or other frameworks?
Yes—when appropriate. Our COOs are certified in proven frameworks such as EOS®, 5 Facets of Business™, and Kolbe. These are tools we use to support execution, not rigid methodologies we sell.
How do you match the right COO to my business?
We use Kolbe assessments and structured discovery to match execution styles between the COO and CEO. Fit matters—and we take it seriously to ensure strong working dynamics and better results.
